1. US President Donald Trump said he is willing to talk under oath with special counsel Robert Mueller in the Russia probe. Trump said he is “looking forward” to being interviewed on Russia’s meddling in the 2016 US election. The White House later said Trump was “speaking hurriedly,” but echoed his intent to cooperate.
2. UK Prime Minister Theresa May will speak at Davos and accuse social-media companies of aiding extremists. May will also meet with President Donald Trump for the first time since he cancelled his visit to the UK.
3. North Korea called for unification with South Korea in a rare announcement. North Korea said it seeks to “promote contact, travel, cooperation between North and South Korea” without the help of other countries.
4. New sanctions targeting North Korea's nuclear-weapons program. The US Treasury imposed sanctions on nine entities, 16 people and six North Korean ships it accused of helping the weapons programs.
5. Major Wall Street hedge-fund Citadel is holding a worldwide data competition. The competition will expand into Europe and China and hopes to attract top tech talent.
6. Turkey will extend its operation against Kurdish forces in Syria despite risks of a face-off with the US. President Trump warned Turkey to cease their operations to avoid clashes between US and Turkish forces.
7. Google's parent company unveiled a new cybersecurity company. The new company hopes to predict and deflect cyberattacks before they "infiltrate" an organization's network.
8. Former US Olympics team doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison. 100 women gave statements accusing Nassar of assault and molestation.
9. A 19-year-old bitcoin millionaire is traveling the world to recruit a dream team to build an alternative to the "corrupt" world of cryptocurrency. Erik Finman made headlines last year when the value of his bitcoin holdings hit the $1 million mark - meaning he won a bet with his parents and didn't have to go to college.
10. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is the only remaining candidate in Egypt's presidential race. His main opponents have been arrested or have dropped out, leaving him as the only candidate in the upcoming elections.
